RENOWNED TRAINER DENNY EMERSON AT DRESSAGE4KIDS WEEKEND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM
Dressage4Kids, Inc. will hold its 14th annual Weekend Educational Program on January 30 and 31, 2016 at Nonnewaug High School, 5 Minortown Road, Woodbury, CT.
This year Olympic Eventing rider and well-known trainer Denny Emerson is a keynote speaker. Mr. Emerson is noted for his skill in starting horses and bringing them all the way to the International and Olympic level. He also has a huge following on his Tamarack Hill Farm Facebook page where he dispenses advice and information on horse-related and general ‘life’ subjects. He offers lessons in Vermont during the summer and in Southern Pines, North Carolina during the winter - his week-long summer Riding Camps are always popular. His expertise in training and coaching to the highest levels in all three disciplines is renowned, and Mr. Emerson was inducted into the USEA Hall of Fame. Through his lessons, articles and his book ‘How Good Riders get Good’, he is dedicated to sharing his knowledge, based on years of experience, to help riders ride their horses correctly and with understanding – which he feels should always be the top priority.
As in past years, the Weekend Educational Program will offer many horse-related seminars on a variety of topics: how to improve your riding and training skills; best practices in horse management, including many aspects of horse health; marketing and insuring your business properly; and insights into the importance of fitness for horse and rider. Talks giving advice on drawing and photography, along with demonstrations of vaulting and interactive sessions on Pilates for riders, will also be featured. During the specialized Trainers Track, top trainers and other specialists offer guidance on many aspects of teaching and business considerations.
Two-time Olympian Lendon Gray will again be sharing her expertise over the weekend. She began the Weekend Educational Program 14 years ago to help riders of all ages, parents, and instructors gain a better understanding of the good horsemanship skills that are necessary, not only for basic horse health and happiness, but that also contribute to success in the show-ring.
