A SPECIAL PLACE AND A SPECIAL EVENT

A SPECIAL PLACE AND A SPECIAL EVENT
There is an
amazing place here in Connecticut that has become a second home
to many volunteers and home to many horses, donkeys and other farm animals
. It's
an animal rescue but also much, much more.
This haven provides animal assisted therapy to those struggling with autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, post-tramatic stress disorder
, depression, cancer and other difficulties.
They rescue the animals, the animals help rescue the humans.
The best part
may be
the simplest of all: the farm is free and open to the public, so an
yone in need of a friend has a place to visit. ALL are welcome. This is a place for kids to learn and connect with animals and create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
The place is Ray of Light Farm in East Haddam, CT.
Ray of Light Farm's
biggest fundraiser of the year is this September. It's a silent and live auction. If you have gift certificates, antiques, collectibles collecting dust that you would be wiling to donate it would be appreciated.
If you are here in CT call the farm for pickup at 860-873-1895 or email info@rayoflightfarm.org. For businesses, there are sponsorship opportunities as well. Details can be found at www.rayoflightfarm.org This is a 501(c)3 tax deductible charity. Check out the website or better yet stop by the farm Thursday-Tuesday 10-3.

And remember to attend the event on September Sept 24, 2016 from 5-9pm! This year's theme is "Almost Oktoberfest!" The tickets are only $25 per person (free for kids under 16 years of age) and include food, both silent & live auctions with many exciting items already donated, live music, dancing, and the delicious Chili Cook-Off. There will be a Cigar Tent and a cash bar, and, for the kids, a Kids' Basket Bash, games, and an animal parade showing off some of the beautiful rescue horses. Tickets may be purchased at www.rayoflightfarm.org under "events."
